Challenge by Choice Adventure and Recreation Programs

The BIAC welcomes inquiries from participants as well as volunteers. Participants and volunteers arrive from all over our United States. It is an opportunity to build friendships; gain confidence, earn field work credits and have more fun than you thought imaginable!
There are small scholarships available based on need and availability of funds.

Participants
Apply by application (on line, by email or phone). Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified by Linda. Participants need to be members of the BIAC (annual $50 participant/family) make a non-refundable $100 deposit (which will be applied to your camp fees) when submitting your application. All camp fees are due 1 month prior to camp attendance.
Volunteers/Registered Nurses (RNs)
Volunteers and RNs do not pay a fee, will arrive a day early for a training session. Apply by application (on line, by email or phone). Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified by Linda. It has been said by a volunteer that this week will change you forever. Call Linda (303) 355-9969 x310 for information.
Adventure Camps
April Fools
April 7-10 (18 yrs. and older) - $850
Skiing, boarding with the Breckenridge Adaptive Ski staff, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing. You will stay at the Griffith Lodge.
Program staffed by volunteers, RN and BOEC interns.
Camp Summit
May 30-June 4 (21 yrs. and older) - $810
Housed at the Easter Seals Camp. Frisbee golf, accessible swimming pool, horseback riding, good foods and new friends. Program staffed by Easter Seals.

June 6-11 (18 yrs. and older) - $1,700
River rafting, ropes course, hand cycling, wall climbing, theme dance. You will stay at the Griffith Lodge. Program staffed by volunteers, RN and BOEC interns. This is a one on one camp.
Youth Quest for Adventure
Presented by Brain Injury Association of Colorado and Denver Adventures
10 to 18 year-olds who have sustained a brain injury are invited to join us for an exciting day of panning for gold in an Idaho Springs mine and river rafting on the Arkansas River.
- Session 1: Saturday, June 26, 2010 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Session 2: Saturday, July 24, 2010 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (This session is for Spanish speaking youth)
Pick up and drop off at the Brain Injury Association offices near St. Anthony's Central Hospital.

River rafting, ropes course, hand cycling, wall climbing, theme dance. You will stay at the Griffith Lodge. Program staffed by volunteers, RN and BOEC interns. This is a one on one camp.
Extreme Adventure Camp
August 22-27 (higher functioning participant 18 yrs. and older) - $1,700
You will camp off-site (away from the Griffith Lodge) for 2 nights and during the 2 days you will fish and hike natural rock. You will return to the Griffith Lodge for more fun and good food. Program staffed by volunteers, RN and BOEC interns.
Canoe Trip (Ruby & Horse Thief Canyons)
September 1-5 (18 yrs. and older) - $850
River rafting, ropes course, hand cycling, wall climbing, theme dance. You will stay at the Griffith Lodge. Program staffed by RN and BOEC interns.
Creative Minds
September 10-13 (18 yrs and older) - $800
Such events as: Cooking, hiking, field trips, poetry, painting, movement, laughter.
Program staffed by volunteers, RN and BOEC interns.
Denver Day Programs
June 19 & August 29 (15 yrs. and older) $140 ea.
Participants will meet at the Chatfield State Park (South of Denver). Each day will be kayaking, hand cycling, and picnic lunch. Let's have some fun in the sun and make this a family outing. Program staffed by volunteers and BOEC interns.
